THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) said that it will proclaim all 12 winning senators tomorrow, May 17, 2025.
In a press conference held at the Manila Hotel Tent City, Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia said the proclamation of the 12 winning senators will start by 3 pm.
The poll body, which acts as the National Board of Canvassers (NBOC), ended the official tally of the Certificates of Canvass (COC) for the mid-term elections on Thursday evening.
The COCs are used to determine the candidates who have officially won the elections.
The canvassing of all 175 COCs were completed within three days after the May 12 elections to register the fastest canvassing process done in the poll body’s history. Aside from that, the Comelec declared that the number of voters who voted during the 2025 mid-term national and local elections reached 57,350,968 out of the 69,673,653 registered voters for an 82.20-percent voter turnout, the highest in the history of Philippine mid-term elections.
This is the official and final voter turnout based on the Final Canvass Report of the NBOC, including the Local Absentee Voters and Registered Overseas Voters.
