Comelec starts distribution of NLE poll workers’ honoraria

THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) has already started the distribution of honoraria for teachers who served as poll workers during the recently concluded mid-term elections.

Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia said the poll body is eyeing to complete the payment of teachers at least less than 10 days after the elections.

“Based on the ESRA (Election Service Reform Act) Law, the honoraria should be given 15 days after the elections. We want to distribute the honoraria of the teachers in less than ten days,” said Garcia.

An additional P2,000 honoraria will be given to teachers who served as Election Registration Board (ERB) members. This means ERB members will receive P10,000 while ERB chairpersons will receive P12,000.

The poll chief said Region 3 or the Central Luzon area have already completed the payment of teachers’ honoraria.

It can be recalled at the beginning of the year that the Comelec announced it will train around 186,000 teachers to serve as members of the ERB during the 2025 mid-term elections
