President Marcos Jr. calls for a meaningful and purposeful Christmas celebration

On Christmas Day, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. encouraged Filipinos to live lives filled with meaning and purpose.

He highlighted that Christmas is a vital part of deeply held beliefs, allowing people to feel God’s presence in the most personal and intimate ways, inspiring gratitude, kindness, and joy for all.

“This makes both the celebration and significance of Christmas transcend the constraints of religion, extending its invitation of joy and thanksgiving to everyone, no matter their background,” the President stated in his Christmas message.

As Filipinos reunite with loved ones and reflect on the blessings of the past year, Marcos urged everyone to focus on what truly matters. “I call on everyone to reflect on what is truly important: living a life of meaning and purpose,” he said.

He expressed hope that the festive season would foster love and peace in every Filipino household and deepen appreciation for the strength that comes from a relationship with Jesus Christ.

“In our endeavor to build a Bagong Pilipinas, let us emulate the light that guided the wise men to the infant in the manger, so others may see and experience the hope that the Lord Almighty freely offers to us all,” he added.

In a separate video message, the First Family also encouraged Filipinos to embrace the Christmas spirit despite the challenges many are facing.

First Lady Louise “Liza” Araneta-Marcos invited the public to explore the country’s scenic spots, while the President’s sons encouraged visiting churches, enjoying Christmas lights, and spending quality time with family and friends.

“The celebration need not be extravagant because, in every corner of the country, no matter the circumstances, Christmas for Filipinos is all about love, giving, and family,” Marcos emphasized.
