TEAMS from the USA and the Philippines of the PUSO Foundation (Purposeful Unconditional Service to Others), a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering individuals through service work and community engagement, embarked recently on a mission trip to the Aeta community in Barangay Diaz, Porac, Pampanga, together with employee volunteers from the Monde Nissin Corp.’s Pampanga Plant Site.
The team brought essential school supplies, hygiene kits, and nutritious snacks to students of Diaz Elementary School in Porac. The initiative supports Aeta students as they begin the 2024-2025 academic year and reflects the joint commitment of Monde Nissin and PUSO to supporting local communities through volunteer efforts.
The PUSO Foundation’s mission to Porac this year has been supported by Monde Nissin employees through their Tulong Sulong program, which encourages employee volunteerism and implements impactful corporate social responsibility projects nationwide.
As Monde Nissin employee volunteer KM Maniego shared, “Engaging in these activities not only builds social skills among our employees but also fosters a workplace grounded in humility and understanding. This broadens their perspectives beyond our plants and offices and helps them connect with local communities on a more personal level.”
And connect they did with the children at the school just by reading stories, playing games, dancing, and simply having fun. Kapampangan Monde Nissin employees, along with the teachers of Diaz Elementary School, were able to help bridge the communication gap but smiles and laughter was the language of the day.
The event culminated with a distribution of school supplies, hygiene kits, clothes, school uniforms and snacks of Nissin Biscuit favorites Butter Coconut, Eggnog and Breadstix.
The collaboration between the PUSO Foundation and Monde Nissin has enabled both organizations to support more individuals in need. Through their combined efforts, Monde Nissin and the PUSO Foundation highlight the importance of collaboration in preserving cultural heritage through sustainable practices, paving the way for a brighter future for Filipino communities.
