NAGBABALA ang Bureau of Immigration (BI) hinggil sa bagong pamamaraan ng illegal recruitment na ang bagong target ay mga Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW).
Binanggit ni BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco ito matapos nilang masabat ang isang 37-anyos na Filipina sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 matapos nitong tangkaing sumakay ng Philippine Airlines flight patungong Doha, Qatar, na may layover sa Dubai.
Ito ay matapos na maberipika ng mga immigration officers ang dokumento ng biktima mula sa Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), at may nadiskubreng mga pagkakaiba kaya pinigil ang kanyang pag-alis.
Nalaman din ng BI personnel na ang babae ay illegal na ni-recruit upang magtrabaho bilang household service worker sa Dubai.
“The modus operandi of these unscrupulous individuals involves using the records of legitimate contracts to facilitate their departure under false pretenses, while actually redirecting them to work illegally in a different country,” ayon kay Tansingco.
Ganito rin ang iba pang mga kaso noong July 12 sa the NAIA Terminal 1, kung saan ang isang babaeng OFW ang nagsabing returning worker siya sa Riyadh.
Lumalabas na sa recross, ang babae ay ni-recruit lamang sa kaparehas na modus operandi sa isang advertisement na kanyang nakita sa Tiktok.
Ang nasabing kaso ay nai-turn over na sa Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (I-ACAT) para sa legal action laban sa recruiters na responsable sa nasabing pamamaraan.
“This incident serves as a reminder to all returning OWFs to exercise caution and be vigilant in their dealings with recruiters,” ayon kay Tansingco. “The BI and the DMW already has an integrated system, hence it would be very easy for us to identify the legitimacy of presented clearances,” dagdag pa nito.
