Seven cops charged and penalized due to illegal gambling

PHILIPPINE National Police (PNP) Spokesperson PCol. Jean Fajardo said a total of seven PNP personnel were already charged and penalized due to illegal gambling.

This came after the directive of PNP Chief PGen. Dionardo Carlos that prohibits police from engaging in any form of gambling.

According to Fajardo, majority of the police charged were sergeants caught playing e-sabong.

Some of them were already demoted or suspended, while others were dismissed from the service.

Meanwhile, Fajardo said that the inspection of field commanders of their personnel’s personal gadgets used for gaming apps will continue as per the directive of the PNP Chief.

This is to ensure that police personnel are doing their work properly and are not engaged in gambling that will tarnish their image.
