THE Department of Health (DOH) considers it dangerous to undergo COVID-19 vaccination that is more than the number of doses recommended by health experts.
According to DOH spokesperson and Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, the COVID-19 vaccines being used today are still under Phase 3 clinical trial and would need more constant monitoring on its long-term effects on man.
She said it would be best for everyone to remain vigilant and be careful with the use of the vaccines and just follow assigned protocols and approved guidelines.
Vergeire said the DOH knows that there were individuals who have allegedly received from four to about six doses of the COVID-19 vaccines. They are now under close watch for possible adverse events following vaccination.
Vergeire likewise encouraged those who are fully vaccinated to get a booster shot to have further ample protection against the infection because the efficacy of earlier doses go down after a few months.
From the 45 million fully vaccinated population, only 11.8 million have received their booster shots.
