THE Department of Education (DepEd) said that more schools have joined in the holding of face-to-face classes.
According to DepEd Assistant Secretary Malcolm Garma, a total of 9,353 schools are already conducting face-to-face classes as of March 17, 2022.
Of this number, 8,972 are public schools and 381 are private educational institutions.
Garma said around 14,350 more schools nominated to conduct face-to-face classes are awaiting for approval.
Meanwhile, DepEd Assistant Secretary Alma Torio emphasized that only schools in areas are under Alert Level 1 and Alert Level 2 are qualified to hold limited face-to-face graduation but they are still looking at this possibility.
For schools in areas under Alert Levels 3, 4 and 5, on the other hand, graduation ceremonies will remain “virtual.”
