FOR its efforts to improve the quality of Filipinos’ digital life in the 21st Century, Converge ICT Solutions Inc. won a big recognition and brought honor to the country after being named as the Outstanding Wireline and/or Wireless Company at the recent Pacific Telecommunications Council Awards 2022.
“With the Outstanding Wireline and/or Wireless Company award, we have bested both wireline and mobile operators in providing the fastest and most reliable connectivity. This stands as testament to our commitment to bring world-class connectivity to more areas in the Philippines,” said Converge CEO Dennis Anthony Uy.
During the virtual awards ceremony, Converge Chief Operations Officer Jesus Romero received the Outstanding Wireline and/or Wireless Company Award on behalf of Converge.

He thanked the PTC for the recognition and stated that the award is not just a company achievement but a source of national pride as more underserved and unserved Filipinos now have access to superior broadband service.
“This award is not only significant to Converge, but to our country, as this means that the world now recognizes our efforts to reach more unserved and underserved Filipinos and provide them access to world-class connectivity. We will continue to innovate to bring superior and differentiated products as well as exceptional service at the best value in the market,” Romero said in his acceptance remarks.
The PTC Awards honor international carriers and technology companies pushing the envelope in the information and communications technology (ICT) field and bringing fresh innovation in telecommunications.
The Pacific Telecommunications Council (PTC), which groups ICT companies from over 45 countries in the Pacific Rim, is the foremost global non-profit organization promoting the advancement of ICT in the region.
The awards evaluate nominees on both qualitative (bridging the digital divide, community impact) and quantitative (revenues, profitability, subscriber reach) measures.
In 2021, Converge’s subscriber base reached 1.5 million and its network passed over 9.6 million homes as of the end of the third quarter of 2021. This translates to 37.6-percent household coverage nationwide, placing Converge on track to reach the company’s accelerated target to cover approximately 55 percent of households in the Philippines by 2023.
The Pacific Telecommunications Council is the latest award-giving body to recognize Converge’s transformative innovation and technological excellence, others being Asia Corporate Excellence and Sustainability Awards, the Asia CEO Awards, and the Asia Pacific Enterprise Awards, to name a few.
For 2022, Converge is pursuing its Go Deep strategy, eyeing to expand its provincial backbone in Visayas and Mindanao.
In the last quarter of 2021, Converge finished its much-talked about digital highway, completing both the in-land, and the subsea segments of the project.
With the 1,800-km subsea cable project connected to the 90,000-km+ domestic fiber backbone, Converge can now serve more underserved and unserved areas in the country.
