DEPARTMENT of Budget and Management (DBM) Wendel Avisado will be on medical leave as he completes the rest he needs after his recent bout with COVID-19.
On the other hand, Undersecretary Rose Marie Canda is taking over as acting Secretary, at least until the return of Secretary Avisado.
In an advisory sent by the DBM, Avisado is on medical leave from August 02 to 13, after being discharged from the hospital. He was quarantined for over a month and upon the advice of his doctor, he was reportedly told to undertake a series of examinations.
Avisado is deemed vulnerable as he had a quadruple open heart bypass 14 years ago.
“To ensure that services of the Department remains unhampered, Undersecretary Tina Rose Marie L. Canda will serve as Officer-in-Charge during this period.”
“Rest assured that the DBM remains steadfast and committed to its mandate of promoting the efficient and effective management of the national budget to support its budget priorities especially in the midst of the pandemic,” the advisory reads.
