BAKA hindi na palawigin pa ang voter’s registration para sa darating na 2022 national elections dahil sisimulan na rin ang filing ng Certificate of Candidacy (COC) sa itinakdang pagtatapos ng pagpapatala.
Ayon kay Comelec Spokesperson James Jimenez, hanggang Setyembre 30, 2021 na lamang ang voter registration at marami pa ang gagawing paghahanda kaya hindi lamang ang pagpapatala ang dapat pagtuunan ng pansin.
Sinabi pa ni Jimenez, kailangang maghanda para sa mga dokumento sa araw ng halalan at ang paraan na maaari umanong gawin para masimulan ang paghahanda para sa election day document ay ang isara ang pagpaparehistro ng mga botante.
“It would be very difficult to prepare for the elections if the number continues to change. We print only the exact number of ballots. So if the number of voters is a moving target, our printing will also be a moving target. So we have to put a stop to it at some point,” ayon kay Jimenez.
Posible rin umanong mamahagi ng registration forms sa mga community pantries upang mas maraming mahikayat sa pagpapatala.
“Yes, they can do that. There’s no problem with that.”
“In fact, some people have already approached us to ask about that. We also gave out forms when we had a walk around in a few barangays in Quezon City. So yeah, you can do it in pantries. That will help a lot,” dagdag pa ng Comelec official.
