THE only one-jab COVID-19 vaccine branded as Moderna now has an emergency use authorization, says Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Director General Eric Domingo.
At the Kapihan sa Manila Bay media forum, Domingo said the FDA has finally granted Moderna an EUA nine days after the tedious review of the documents in connection with Moderna’s EUA application.
Domingo said that the issuance of the EUA legitimizes the use of Moderna vaccines to persons aged 18 and above. Unlike other COVID-19 vaccines, Moderna jabs require just a single dose.
Vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez earlier claimed that the government procured some 13 million doses from Moderna while the private sector ordered seven million doses.
