For the sixth straight day, the number of recoveries from the COVID-19 disease have not fallen below the 10,000 mark.
Based on the Department of Health’s (DOH) COVID-19 Case Bulletin # 407 issued today, April 25, 2011, there were 20,509 recoveries, which also marks the third day that recoveries went above the 20,000 level.
An additional 8,162 of new COVID-19 cases were also recorded to bring the overall COVID-19 case count to 997,523, a little over 2,000 needed before hitting 1 million.
However, active cases were further down at 77,075 compared to yesterday’s 89,485 total, while an additional 109 people died from the disease to up the total to 16,783 deaths.
The DOH also notes that 19 duplicates were removed from the total case count, of which 13 are recoveries.
There were also 52 cases previously tagged as recoveries but were reclassified as deaths after final validation.
A total of two laboratories did not operate on April 23, 2021 while eight laboratories were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS).
