A TOTAL of 57 employees of the central office of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) tested positive for COVID-19.
During the Laging Handa briefing in Malacañang, DILG Undersecretary and Spokesperson Jonathan Malaya that the figure represents five percent of the DILG’s more than 1,100 employees.
Majority of those who got sick experienced mild symptoms or asymptomatic, and majority have already recovered.
For the regional offices of the DILG, Malaya said there is no exact number of those who contracted the disease but he said these are only a few.
Meanwhile, DILG Secretary Eduardo Año, who is currently isolated and working from home, remains in good condition.
The DILG chief tested COVID-19 positive for the third time.
The symptoms of Año is mild but Malaya still urged the public to pray for the quick recovery of the DILG chief.
