168 Aetas get vaccines via Ronda Bakuna

A TOTAL of 168 members of the Aeta community in Barangay Sapangbato received their vaccines through “Ronda Bakuna sa Barangay” program of Angeles City on Friday.

It was learned that a total of 4,481 residents were vaccinated during the 3-day vaccine roll-out in Barangay Sapangbato — 1,963 on August 31; 1,767 on September 1 and 751 on September 3.

The Aetas came from Sitio Target and Sitio Babo and were inoculated through the second mobile bus clinic deployed in Sapangbato.

The 2-day schedule of vaccination in Barangay Sapangbato  was extended on Friday to accommodate the remaining population, especially the Indigenous People, Lazatin’s Chief Adviser IC Calaguas said.

Calaguas, also the city government’s Chief Implementer for vaccination, said Angeles City also recorded the highest single day tally of 1,963  residents vaccinated in Barangay Sapangbato last Aug. 31.

Meanwhile, a total of 9,764 residents have been vaccinated on Sept.1, also the highest number vaccinated in a single day since the start of the blended scheme vaccination – Ronda Bakuna at Sundo Bakuna sa Barangay programs.

The Sundo Bakuna is also ongoing in barangays with the largest population, and accommodated residents from Barangay Cutud, Pulung Cacutud, Pampang, Cutcut, Sapalibutad, and Pulung Maragul. 

Six Philippine Rabbit buses and 10 jeepneys are being used to fetch families from the barangays going to the on-site vaccination areas at the City College of Angeles and Angeles City National High School.

The sites are also available for walk-in senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and pregnant women.

It can be recalled that prior to the designated inoculation schedule for Ronda and Sundo Bakuna, vaccination forms were distributed by Lazatin and his Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel with Gender and Development Head Mina Cabiles and other deployed City Hall employees.

To date, a total of 163,472 Angeleños already received their first dose of vaccines or 35.31 percent of the city’s 462,928 population, while 85,486 or 18.46 percent are already fully vaccinated.

Records of the vaccination Technical Working Group and Committee also shows that a total of 9,472 in priority group A1 received their first dose of vaccine, while 7,267 were already fully-vaccinated; 26,995 for the first dose in A2, 25,967 for the second dose; 34,460 under A3 priority group received the first dose of vaccine, while 27,146 for the second dose; 38,854 people from the A4 group got their first shot of the vaccine while 24,806 completed their two shots; while 53,961 under the A5 for the first dose while 300 are already fully vaccinated.

Lazatin further commended the hard work of the members of the vaccination teams from various volunteers groups in the city, including city hall personnel and other agencies, to make the vaccination roll-out a success.
