A QUICK response by operatives of the Malabon City police resulted in the rescue of a girl, a minor, from the clutches of her supposed chatmate, a construction worker, in a rescue operation conducted by the police in Lucena City, Quezon on Good Friday.
In a report by Malabon Police chief P/Col. Albert Barot to Northern Police District (NPD) Director P/BGen. Jose Hidalgo, Jr., the father of the young victim nicknamed “Rosana” went to their office last April 13, 2022 to report that her daughter had not returned home after she left their house on April 12 after having met with the suspect, supposedly the girl’s chatmate.
At around 9:35 a.m. on Good Friday, P/Maj. Ronald Carlos, chief of the Station Investigation and Detective Management Branch (SIDMB) of the Malabon police received information regarding the whereabouts of the suspect, identified as Rodolfo Maglaque, Jr. 28 years old, from Barangay Dalahican, Marikina City.
The police went to the suspect’s residence where Maj. Carlos was able to talk to the father of the suspect, Rodolfo Sr., who immediately told the police of his son’s location in Barangay Mayao Crossing in Lucena City, Quezon Province.
The team of Maj. Carlos then coordinated with the police, particularly the Women and Children Protection Center and the Anti-Cybercrime Unit in Camp Crame to conduct a rescue operation.
At 4 p.m. also on Good Friday, the team reached their destination and was able to talk to Quezon Provincial Director P/BGen. Joel Villanueva who immediately ordered his men to help in the operation, that resulted in the suspect’s arrest in Purok Atis, Brgy. Mayao, Crossing.
Aside from Maglaque Jr., the team of Maj. Carlos also arrested the suspect’s mother, Aniceta Dazer, 58 years old, for allegedly consenting to his son’s action of abducting and abusing the young victim.
The two now face charges of violation (two counts) of R.A. 8353 or the Anti-Rape Law and R.A. 7610 or the Special Protection Against Child Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act at the fiscal’s office in Malabon City.
