NASABAT ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) ang isang Italian national dahil sa pagiging wanted sa kanilng bansa.
Kinilala ang suspek na si Ivaldi Antonello, 51, na naaresto matapos na tinangkang i-extend ang kanyang visa sa BI Angeles Field Office sa Pampanga.
Ayon kay Alien Control Officer Mark Leslie Gonzales, si Antonello ay nagsumite ng kanyang pasaporte para i-extend ang kanyang tourist visa nang napansin ng BI personnel na nasa active watchlist ito.
“He has been in the country since 2019, under a tourist visa,” paliwanag ni Gonzales. “Once we saw his record, we immediately coordinated with the BI’s Fugitive Search Unit (FSU) to effect his arrest,” dagdag pa ni Gonzales.
Sa kanilang report kay BI Commissioner Jaime Morente, sinabi ni BI FSU Chief Bobby Raquepo na naaresto si Antonello sa tulong ng Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Angeles City Field Unit.
“We received official communication from Italian authorities requesting assistance in locating him,” paliwanang ni Morente.
Base sa records, isang warrant of arrest ang inisyu ng Prosecutor’s Office sa Appeal Court ng Trieste, Italy noong June 2019 laban sa suspek dahil sa kasong Aggravated Rape and Sexual Assault against Minor na isang paglabag sa mga batas sa Italya.
Si Antonello ay inilipat sa BI Warden Facility sa Bicutan, Taguig kasunod ng pagsasailalim sa COVID-19 swab test alinsunod sa health protocols.
