PASIG City Mayor Vico Sotto has gone on isolation moments after he tested positive for COVID-19.
In a live video feed on Facebook, Sotto also admitted that his driver (whose name he didn’t mention) also got infected — and died.
Sotto said that he has already cancelled all his appointments covering the period of his isolation.
“Kasalukuyang ako ay naka-quarantine. Nag-COVID-19 test na ako kahapon bilang ako po ay isang close contact. Strictly susunod tayo sa protocols natin. Hindi muna ako makakapasok sa trabaho at kina-cancel ko muna ang appointment o meeting. Kung maaari ay i-Zoom, Viber, text, and phone call muna ang pagtatrabaho,” Sotto said on Facebook Live.
Sotto’s driver was taken to the hospital last Wednesday and died two days after.
“Nung nakaraang Biyernes ay nawalan tayo ng isang matalik na kaibigan dahil sa COVID-19, siya ‘yung driver ko kaya talagang close contact ako bagama’t sumusunod naman ako sa health protocols,” he added.
“Nakikiramay tayo sa pamilya ni Kuya Vener, sa mga kaibigan. Wednesday kami huling nagkita bago siya isinugod sa ospital,” Sotto quipped.
