IT’S all systems go among all government agencies for the inauguration of President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
In a press conference by the Subcommittee on security, traffic, and communications in Camp Crame, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo Ano gave the assurance that all security measures are already in place for the inauguration of Marcos.
Among these include the formation of Task Force Manila Shield or the implementation of stricter checkpoints and enforcement of a gun ban.
Ano reiterated that they will now allow groups like the CPP-NPA to disrupt the inauguration and will not allow anyone or any group to embarrass Marcos.
For his part, Philippine National Police (PNP) Deputy Chief for Administration Lt. Gen. Rhodel Sermonia that despite all the protest activities planned during the inauguration, the PNP will be ready.
Aside from the National Capital Region (NCR), there are also units from Calabarzon and Central Luzon Police that will be on stand by for augmentation.
Meanwhile, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Director MGen. Felipe Natividad said that they are encouraging those who will conduct protest rallies to just do it at designated “Freedom Parks” and make it peaceful.
He said the NCRPO will also deploy mobile jails in case people who will create trouble will be arrested.
Aside from the deployment of additional police personnel, a traffic plan is already in place for the inauguration.
MGen. Natividad is also encouraging those who will attend the inauguration that they should be fully vaccinated but there’s no need to show their vaccination card.
Among the government agencies that attended the meeting include the Presidential Security Group, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Bureau of Fire Protection, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, Department of Information and Communications Technology, National Telecommunications Commission, Philippine Coast Guard, National Intelligence Coordinating Agency, Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines, Department of Public Works and Highways, Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Office of Civil Defense and the Department of Science and Technology.
Hinihikayat naman ang mga dadalo sa inagurasyon na dapat sila ay fully vaccinated pero hindi na nila kailangan pang magpakita ng vaccination card.
