SC Chief Justice Gesmundo to administer oath to President-elect Marcos on June 30

IT will be Supreme Court Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo who will administer the oath of office to President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. during his inauguration on June 30, 2022.

This was confirmed by Atty. Brian Hosaka, Supreme Court spokesperson.

In a message, Hosaka said the presidential inauguration is an “event” under the Executive branch of government and thus, is not part of the preparation of the Supreme Court.

However, Hosaka said that the invitation to lead the oath-taking of Marcos as the 17th president of the Philippines has already reached the office of Chief Justice Gesmundo, and the invitation was accepted by the chief magistrate.
