THE positivity rate for COVID-19 in the National Capital Region (NCR) is now at 6 percent.
This was announced by OCTA Research fellow Dr. Guido David, who said the positivity rate for NCR slightly increased compared to 5.9 percent based on their latest projection..
During the Laging Handa public briefing, David said they were able to record a 52-percent one week growth rate.
He said they are expecting that the number of daily cases this week will reach 500 daily, although theis number is not yet alarming since the numbers are still low compared to earlier surges.
David said that aside from the NCR, they also saw an increase in terms of positivity rate between five to seven percent in other places in the country, including the Calabarzon region.
There’s also an increase in positivity rate in provinces such as Pampanga, including Iloilo and Capiz in Western Visayas, including South Cotabato.
However, David said this is still less than 10 percent except in areas where testing continues.
