OUTGOING Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Francisco Duque III confirmed today that there is now 4.7 percent “vaccine wastage” of COVID-19 vaccines already received by the Philippines.
But despite this, Duque clarified that the number is still within the 10 percent “allowable wastage” allowed by the World Health Organization (WHO).
Based on data provided by the National Task Force against COVID-19 (NTF), which was confirmed by DOH Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje, the overall number of COVID-19 vaccines already delivered to the Philippines now stands at 245,382,600.
Meanwhile, the National Vaccination Operations Center (NVOC) said that as of June 26, around 154,132,506 vaccine doses have been administered already, wherein 70,358,612 Filipinos are now fully vaccinated, while 14,947,878 first booster doses were already given to the target population.
