A TOTAL of 9,187 families who were victims of Typhoon “Fabian” received aid from the provincial government of Bulacan.
Personnel from the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) in Bulacan, all riding in motorboats, braved the strong waves to bring relief goods to the residents of coastal areas in the province, particularly in Pamawaran Island in Malolos City on Friday.
The relief goods for 1,200 families at the island were turned over by Bulacan Governor Daniel Fernando and his staff, assisted by personnel from the Philippine National Police.
Other relief goods were distributed in different barangays conducted by Fernando and by Malolos City Mayor Bebong Gatchalian, Bokal Alex Castro and PSWDO head Rowena Tiongson.
According to Fernando, up to 9,187 families benefited from the relief goods, including 1,200 families in Isla Pamarawan; 1,620 families in Barangay Bagna; 2,150 in Barangay Sto. Rosario; 800 families in San Vicente; 527 in Brgy Santiago and 994 families in Brgy Anilao.
Later in the afternoon, at least 1,888 families also received food packs in Barangay Sto. Nino in Hagonoy town.
Tiongson said the aid was provided by the provincial government for the victims of the recent Typhoon Fabian.
