THE Philippine National Police (PNP) said the towns of Tubaran and Malabang in Lanao del Sur have both been placed under the control of the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
This was announced by Police Major General Val De Leon, Chief of the Directorate for Operations of the PNP.
According to P/MGen. De Leon, they have monitored threats of possible attacks by local terrorists in the two towns.
In relation to this, P/MGen. De Leon said they have sat down already with Comelec Chairperson Atty. Saidamen Pangarungan for the next steps.
At present, the PNP already sent a Special Action Force team to Tubaran and Malabang and have also intensified the conduct of checkpoints in the two areas.
