Top cop in Palawan sacked over series of murder

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Calamba City, Laguna – THE chief of Palawan Police Provincial Office (PPPO) was sacked from his post following a series of murder in his area.

Relieved Police Col. Dionisio Bartolome, was replaced by Col. Nicholas Torre II, the former spokesman of the Batangas Police Provincial Office (BPPO) and director of the Batangas City Police Office (BCPO).

According to MIMAROPA (Mindoro Oriental and Occidental, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan) Police Regional Office (PRO) Director Brig. General Pascual Munoz, their basis of relieving Bartolome is the current strict implementation of maintaining peace and order in the whole region including the province of Palawan where series of shootings and murders has not been resolved even a single case in his area.

The said official specified several particular cases of lawyer Eric Jay Magcamit where he was gunned to death while on his way to Palawan court on November 16 and the slay-try  of Engineer Gregorio Baluyut inside his house by still unidentified armed assailant.
