THE country’s election citizens’ arm said they can’t say yet if the 1.61 percent mismatch in election returns (ERs) will have an effect on the results or even credibility of this year’s polls.
This was what Atty. Vann dela Cruz, spokesperson of the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting or PPCRV, said after concerns were raised regarding the 1.61 percent mismatch seen in ERs.
In a message, Atty. Dela Cruz said it can’t told yet if the mismatch will have an effect since they are still na “for revalidation.”
It is also possible that there were “typo errors” since some ERs were unreadable.
Atty. Dela Cruz, however, assured that whatever result that comes out, the PPCRV will make a report and reveal it to the public.
In an earlier pronouncement by the PPCRV, they saw a 1.61-percent mismatch in 240 ERs and the transparency media server for the 2022 elections, but these can also be unintentional errors made by volunteers who may already be tired.
The Commission on Elections (Comelec), on the other hand, said the public should not be alarmed by this since it will not affect the results of the elections, especially for national positions.
