Berde Renewables has signed a long-term agreement with Sungrow Power and regional distributor Solar Hive to accelerate the rollout of solar and battery storage projects in the Philippines and Thailand.
The partnership covers the procurement of 200 megawatts (MW) of solar inverters and 500 megawatt-hours (MWh) of battery energy storage systems over the next three years. The companies said the agreement is aimed at helping businesses in both countries adopt cleaner, more reliable and cost-effective energy solutions.
Berde Renewables, backed by global infrastructure investor I Squared Capital, said the deal strengthens its ability to deliver large-scale renewable energy projects while meeting growing demand for energy storage, particularly in the Philippines.
“This partnership gives Berde the scale, technology and regional support to deliver clean energy solutions with greater speed and confidence across the Philippines and Thailand,” Berde Renewables Chief Executive Officer Patrick Zhu said.
Zhu described the 200 MW solar and 500 MWh battery storage commitment as a significant milestone for the company, adding that the growing demand for battery storage reflects the need for more flexible and resilient energy systems.
Under the agreement, Sungrow will supply solar inverters, battery energy storage systems, electric vehicle charging solutions and smart energy technologies. Solar Hive, Sungrow’s authorized regional distributor, will provide logistics, spare parts, technical support and after-sales services across the two markets.
Sungrow Regional Director for Southeast Asia Michael Ruan said the company expects the partnership to accelerate the deployment of high-performance clean energy projects in the region.
Meanwhile, Solar Hive Head of Sales and Business Development David Zhang said the collaboration could pave the way for future projects beyond the Philippines and Thailand, supported by the company’s regional distribution network and after-sales capabilities.
Beyond equipment supply, the three companies plan to collaborate on technical training and certification, joint market development, stakeholder engagement, and potential co-investment and vendor financing opportunities for selected renewable energy projects.
Berde said the partnership will improve project delivery timelines by providing priority access to Sungrow’s latest equipment and a more efficient regional supply chain. The battery storage commitment is also expected to enhance grid stability by enabling services such as load shifting from daytime solar generation to evening demand.
The company develops renewable energy projects under a power purchase agreement model, financing, building, owning and operating solar facilities during the contract period before transferring ownership of the assets to customers at the end of the agreement.
