CAMP OLIVAS, CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, PAMPANGA—Three suspected drug peddlers died during an armed encounter with the police in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija on Friday.
According to the report of PCol. Jaime Santos, Acting Provincial Director of Nueva Ecija Provincial Police Office (PPO), operating units of Cabanatuan Community Police Station (CPS) conducted a buy-bust operation at Mampulog Road, Barangay Bantug Norte, Cabanatuan City against Daniel Lopez; Jared Asuncion and Jake Elvambuena, which turned into an armed encounter that resulted to the death of the suspects..
Initial evidence found at the crime scene were one caliber .38 revolver; one caliber .45 pistol; one piece hand grenade; six pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing substance believed to be shabu weighing 15.16 grams with an estimated drug street value of P103,088, one piece plastic sachet of suspected dried marijuana weighing 0.5 grams amounting to P500.
Records show that suspect Elvambuena has a standing warrant of arrest under Criminal Case No 22605-18 for Murder signed by Hon. Maximo Ancheta Jr., Acting Presiding Judge, RTC Branch 87, Gapan City, Nueva Ecija.
