The Casa de Memoria’s Auction Segundo goes Online on November 26

Teasing the season in time for the holidays, Casa de Memoria’s Auction Segundo features 235 lots of “giftable” art and antique pieces set for November 26.

Being true to its name, the Lhuillier-run auction house will be home this season for important “history pieces,” from the 18th-century painting of the “Annunciation” after Barocci (Lot 158), down to Baccarat crystal figures of the Three Magi (Lot 147). Casa Segundo also includes celebrated European porcelain and crystal brands, as well as historically-important Philippine prints, Chinese export porcelain, other Orientalia and more.

A total of 235 Lots is now open for preview starting November 2 until the 25th. Featured below are some of the highlight Lots, meticulously selected by Miguel Rosales, The Casa’s creative director:

Lot 078: “Lips” by Jeff Koons (b. 1955) on Bernardaud Porcelain Plate A limited edition of 830/2500. Bears at the back the artist’s name, signature, title of the work, and other pertinent information. Manufactured by Bernardaud (est. 1863). PHP 36,000.00
Lot 211: Fan-shaped Landscape painting, by Manuel Moreno Rodriguez
Spain, circa early 19th century. Oil on paper. Signed and dated 1893 at the lower left corner. Framed.

Lot 185: Napoleon III Gilded Wooden Frame
French, circa latter half of 19th century. Oval-windowed, rectangular frame, carved and gessoes with swirling beads and acanthus.

Casa de Memoria’s preview will be at the Palacio de Memoria—recipient of NCCA’s 2020 Philippine Heritage Award for adaptive reuse, built during the Commonwealth Period—the once sea side estate that survived the carpet bombing of Manila. A visit to the Palacio itself is filled with history.
