PRESIDENTIAL spokesperson Harry Roque had just been acknowledged by a Thai news website, which developed an animated version of him in the form of a GIF.
However, the news website Thai Enquirer said that they don’t even have an idea as to who is the person behind the photo which they picked as model for animators to develop as GIF.
“We have no idea who this person is,” wrote the Thai Enquirer in a tweet. “We used the GIF because he’s round and Asian!!” it added. Roque is shown in the GIF vigorously pumping his fist in the air.

In a statement, Roque said: “The fact that the Philippine government’s advocacy campaign has caught international attention underscores how effective our message is, which we articulate in every press briefing and which we prominently display on the podium, in conveying that we must adhere to such health standards aimed at saving lives and protecting the communities.”
