Groundbreaking and state-of-the-art innovations for dental materials and products industry were demonstrated by five Taiwan Excellence Award winners during a recent virtual “Dentistry of Excellence” product launch.
The said Taiwan Excellence Award honorees were Young Optics’ 3D printer with outstanding optical technology; EPED’s real-time imaging system; Saturn Imaging’s all-in-one digital solution for implantation; Dentmate’s innovative LED light solution for dentistry; and DHEF’s Endodontic Handpiece and dental imaging scanner. Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), Taiwan’s foremost trade promotion body, and the Bureau of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Economic Affairs jointly organized and presented this momentous event.
Based on the latest report released by the World Health Organization (WHO), 30 percent of 65-year old people and up are toothless. Thus, it is foreseen that the demand for oral care products will increase continuously.
With this rate, it is forecasted that the global dental implant market demand will reach its peak in the year 2026. By that time, business opportunities are expected to reach an estimate of US$570 billion. It is also notable that dental materials made in Taiwan cover 94% of the entire global dentistry product line which can create an output value that may reach as high as US$10 billion by 2025. By looking at the numbers, it only manifests the vaunted manufacturing power and might of Taiwan in this industry.

In the virtual event, Young Optics, which is works on research, design, manufacture and sales of optical components, presented its Digital Light Processing 3D Printer that offers stable printing materials with constant parameters where 12 models can be printed in just 3 hours to meet dentists’ needs on time. Award-winning and leading company in the field of minimally invasive surgery EPED showcased IRIS and SimEx, which provides super flexible and exceptionally customized solutions in dental training as well as dental impressions and dental curriculum.
Also, there was Saturn Imaging, which specializes in 3D diagnosis and implant planning software, presented its ImplantMax that provides an all-in-one solution for guided implantology, from digital treatment planning, surgical guide fabrication, to surgical guide verification. Such all-in-one approach streamlines guided implantology and boosts increase in the throughput of digital technology in implantation practice.
Meanwhile, Dentmate which is known as a top dental equipment provider presented its Dental Curing Light and Headlight that is not only lightweight but also easy to operate. And last but not the least, one of Taiwan’s leading digital dental equipment makers DHEF featured the Digirex PSP Scanner that packs a powerful image processing system into a small machine, and its Endomax Brite that offers improve visibility and safety for root canal treatments of patients.
With these latest innovations and reliable products, there will be better care for users and long-term care facilities that will save time, costs and improve services. It can be noted that Taiwanese entities are also confident in offering the best products to meet the demand of global users.
