The Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) knows no age, race or economic status. Even government officials are not spared by this dreaded disease.

Its latest victim is Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) chief, Sec. Martin Andar, who tested positive for COVID-19 after a swab test done recently.

The test was conducted before going to Dinagat Islands in Mindanao to award P10 million worth of infrastructure funds.

However, Sec. Andanar is asymptomatic but he will be in self-isolation or home quarantine.

“Rest assured I am okay and I will still continue to work hard and to perform my duties well, including hosting regular shows to inform the public as I recuperate from the virus,” Sec. Andanar said.

Andanar is among Cabinet members who have tested positive with COVID-19, the most recent of which was Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque.
