San Ildefonso mayor positive for COVID-19

THE mayor of San Ildefonso, Bulacan tested positive for Coronavirus 2019 (Covid-19) after undergoing RT-PCR testing.

Based on the results of the swab test released this Wednesday morning, Mayor Carla Galvez-Tan tested positive for Covid-19 and is currently undergoing 14-day quarantine.

According to his Facebook account post, Mayor Tan admitted that she had experienced body pain, sore throat, and difficulty in breathing since Monday so she immediately took a swab test and the result was positive for the said virus.

Based on her statement, she only thought that the cause of his flu-like symptoms was due to being too tired, lack of sleep and rest.

Due to the current health crisis caused by Covid-19 and in order to ensure and protect the welfare of those she came in contact with, the mayor decided to take a swab test until she was positive for the said virus.

Municipal health office staff are also working on contact tracing and some of them have also undergone swab testing based on Mayor Tan’s directive to prevent infection.

Currently, the office works at the Municipality of San Ildefonso has been canceled starting on Wednesday noon and suspended until today (Friday) March 19 for disinfection.

It was learned that starting on Monday, March 22, 2021 the skeletal workforce scheme will be implemented for the municipal employees.

Tan also called on all those she has close contacted to observe themselves and if they show any symptoms, they should immediately inform their BHERTS in their respective barangays.

Tan is the fifth mayor in Bulacan that had contracted with Covid-19 including Baliuag Mayor Ferdie Estrella, Meycauayan City Mayor Henry Villarica, Bulacan Mayor Vergel Meneses and Balagtas Mayor Eladio Gonzales Jr.

In September of last year, Governor Daniel Fernando also tested positive for the virus.
