SURVIVING the deadly virus from Wuhan, China is no guarantee that one would be able to develop enough antibodies that would somehow serve as a shield against possible re-infection.
Two weeks after claiming to have been cleared of the coronavirus disease, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque has admitted being contaminated again, following reports of sighting him at the Philippine General Hospital past noon today.
Roque said he’s at the government-designated COVID-19 referral hospital to seek medical help — “This is to say that COVID-19 is more transmissible now so we have to take extra precaution,” the Palace spokesperson said in a statement.
The Palace official, who has an existing health condition and diagnosed for diabetes, is reportedly given oxygen support to make it easier for him to breathe.
But even then, Roque said that he’ll be announcing later today community quarantine classification for Metro Manila and the adjoining provinces of Rizal, Laguna, Cavite and Bulacan, a day before the enhanced community quarantine in these areas expires.
“I am asking for your sincerest prayers to all afflicted with COVID-19 in the country and around the world,” he said.
