A DAY after being rushed to the Philippine General Hospital for COVID-19, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque now claims to feel well and ready to rumble after being administered with a vial of remdesivir and guess what – steroids.
“I am better after only one vial of remdesivir and steroids. I came in at the right time since pneumonia was caught early on. Doctors won’t discharge me though until 4 more vials of remdesivir which means I will be confined until Thursday,” Roque said in a statement.
Steroids are considered dopes, usually used by athletes as performance enhancers. The use of performance-enhancing drugs in the country is strictly prohibited, amid risks in its use.
Roque also said that he will be back doing what he’s been doing for the government – preside over the regular Malacañang press briefing.
“But I do feel normal already on my 3rd day of confinement, enough to do my thrice a week briefings. Will check into a TTMF (temporary treatment facility) on Friday to complete my 14 days of isolation. Thanks again for all your well wishes and prayers.”
The Palace mouthpiece claims to have been first tested positive for the coronavirus on March 15. He was found negative for the disease 10 days later.
Aside from Roque, other Cabinet Secretaries who had contracted the deadly virus from Wuhan China were Presidential Communications Operation Office Sec. Martin Andanar, Interior and Local Government Sec. Eduardo Año, Public Works and Highways Sec. Mark Villar, Trade Sec. Ramon Lopez and Education Sec. Leonor Briones.
