A RESOLUTION was filed in the House of Representatives today that seeks to investigate the implementation of the controversial “No Vaccination, No Ride” policy of the government.
House Resolution 2451 urges the House Committee on Health and the Committee on Transportation to conduct a joint inquiry, in aid of legislation, of the policy being enforced notably by the Department of Transportation (DOTr).
To be called to attend the joint hearing are all affected sectors, including DOTr officials and other concerned government agencies.
Under the policy, individuals who are unvaccinated against COVID-19 will not be allowed to take public transportation.
The resolution reiterates that the policy is questionable and has no legal basis.
Aside from this, the new policy is deemed an additional burden, an inconvenience, and will only bring fear and discrimination to unvaccinated passengers, and will also affect the earnings of public transportation drivers and operators.
Proponents of the resolution further insisted that the policy should be dropped.
