THE growth rate of COVID-19 cases continues to escalate in some highly urbanized cities in the country.
Dr. Guido David of the OCTA Research Group said that among the areas that registered high growth rates include Tacloban City, Cebu City, Davao City, Baguio City, Cagayan de Oro City and Zambaonga City.
The OCTA pointed to Baguio City with a severe average daily attack rate (ADAR) that reached 130.56 with a 269-percent one-week growth rate.
Tacloban City, on the other hand, experienced a 469-percent growth rate with an ADAR of 36.80 and 4.59 reproduction number. In Cebu City, growth rate was at 378 percent with 31.60 ADAR and 4.51 reproduction number.
For Davao City, it registered a 305-percent growth rate while ADAR was at 17.12 and reproduction number at 4.11.
Cagayan de Oro has a 261-percent growth rate with 17.15 ADAR and 3.84 reproduction number.
Zamboanga City posted a 235-percent growth rate, ADAR of 13.12 and 3.01 reproduction number.
Meanwhile, transmission of COVID-19 in Metro Manila continues to slow down.
