THE Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Acting Director, PCOL Melecio M. Buslig, Jr., announced that the New Year’s celebration in Quezon City was notably peaceful, with no major untoward incidents reported.
The success of the celebration is credited to the strategic deployment of over 1,200 police personnel and 2,203 force multipliers in key areas, including transportation hubs, markets, malls, business establishments, and churches. Strict enforcement of regulations against dangerous and illegal firecrackers and pyrotechnics further ensured the safety of the public.
“We extend our gratitude to our QCPD personnel, the Quezon City Local Government Unit (QC-LGU) led by our beloved Mayor Hon. Josefina ‘Joy’ Belmonte, force multipliers, and other stakeholders who collaborated with the QCPD. Their dedication ensured the success of Ligtas Salubong 2025, allowing QCitizens to celebrate safely and without interruption,” said PCOL Buslig, Jr.
Mayor Joy Belmonte commended the QCPD’s proactive measures, including enhanced patrolling and monitoring of areas of responsibility. She emphasized that these efforts were instrumental in maintaining peace and order throughout the holiday season, making the celebration of Ligtas Salubong 2025 a model of safety and harmony.
