In preparation for President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr.’s 4th State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday, July 28, 2025, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) will implement a strict liquor ban across the city from 12:01 AM to 6:00 PM. The move is part of heightened security measures to ensure peace and order during the high-profile national event.
The enforcement is based on Executive Order No. 9, Series of 2025, titled “An Order Implementing a Liquor Ban in Quezon City on July 28, 2025, in View of the 4th State of the Nation Address of President Marcos Jr.” The order prohibits the sale, distribution, and consumption of alcoholic beverages within Quezon City during the specified hours.
Authorities said the temporary liquor ban aims to minimize risks of public disturbances and maintain a safe environment throughout the duration of the President’s address.
Violators may face sanctions in accordance with existing laws and city ordinances.
QCPD Officer-in-Charge, PCOL Randy Glenn Silvio, urged residents, business owners, and visitors to fully cooperate. He encouraged the public to report violations through Emergency Hotline 911 or QC Helpline 122.
“Ang Team QCPD ay handang-handa na para sa SONA 2025,” said PCOL Silvio. “Sa lahat ng QCitizens, please be guided by the laws, rules, and regulations being implemented by the city government upang maiwasan ang anumang kaguluhan at maisakatuparan ng payapa, maayos, at ligtas na SONA 2025.”
