THE Task Force Pilipinas Debates 2022 fiasco led by Commission on Elections (Comelec) Commissioner Rey Bulay reccommended the holding of a formal investigation into the botched debate.
Commissioner Bulay said they have already submitted their recommendation to the office of Comelec Chairman Saidamen Pangarungan after gathering enough basis for an investigation.
The objective is to conduct a formal fact-finding and administrative disciplinary investigation due to the alleged involvement of some Comelec personnel.
In line with this, Bulay also recommended the temporary relief of Director James Jimenez and Assistant Director Frances Arabe from their posts.
However, their functions and performance of their other duties at the Comelec will continue while the commission looks for their temporary replacements.
