CAMP BRIG. GENERAL VICENTE P. LIM, Laguna – THE Police Regional Office-4A (PRO-4A), simultaneously launched “Santa Cops” and “Mr. COVID” information campaign activities which aims to remind the community to adhere and practice minimum health standard imposed by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on the upcoming holiday season.
More than 100 Police Stations all over PRO4A vigorously reiterated to the community the significance of their cooperation and support to prevent the spread of COVID-19 cases through visiting malls and other places.
Some of the malls visited by the Santa Cops and Mr. COVID were SM City Bacoor, Sunstar Mall Sta Cruz, SM City Batangas, SM City Taytay, SM City Lucena, Pacific Mall Lucena, and Metro Gaisano Lucena.
PNP reminded the managers and security officers of the malls to strictly impose the MGCQ and GCQ in the case of Batangas, guidelines by IATF as well as the conduct of spot check to those found not observing the rules.
The idea of wearing Santa Cops and Mr. COVID-19 mascots is to frequently remind and actively approach individuals violating social distancing and other public health standard.
Mr. COVID is being followed by Santa Cops and other PNP members wearing facemasks and face shield while distributing flyers. Displayed of tarpaulin was also demonstrated indicating therein those persons not allowed to go outside their residences.
Dissemination of information, education and communication materials regarding anti-criminality campaign such as anti-shoplifting, anti-pickpocketing, anti-basag kotse, GAD related info materials, health updates and protocols relative to COVID-19, and anti-terrorism flyers were distributed.
Calabarzon Regional Director Police Brig. General Felipe Natividad reminded the public, “As much as possible, we encourage the public to just stay at home this coming holiday season. COVID-19 is still everywhere. Let us choose to be safe. The best gift this Christmas is to celebrate it with your family, safe and healthy. We earnestly ask for your cooperation and consideration because our police in the ground will be strictly implementing social distancing and health standard especially those inside the mall and public places.”
