Tagaytay City, Cavite – November 14, 2024 – In a continued effort to support communities affected by recent natural disasters, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. personally led the distribution of financial aid to farmers, fisherfolk, and families impacted by the typhoons that hit the province of Cavite.
The aid was delivered during a government assistance program held at the Tagaytay International Convention Center.
The Office of the President announced that a total of PhP 10,000 each will be provided to over 4,200 beneficiaries from 21 localities across Cavite.
This aid, designed to help individuals and families recover their livelihoods, comes in the wake of Severe Tropical Storms ‘Kristine’ and ‘Leon,’ which caused significant damage to agriculture and infrastructure in the region.
In addition to President Marcos, several key Cabinet members attended the event, including Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian, Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr., Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla, and Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Acting Secretary Cesar Chavez.
The assistance program is part of the government’s ongoing commitment to prioritize recovery efforts for calamity-stricken areas, ensuring that communities receive the necessary resources to rebuild and regain their livelihoods in the aftermath of the storms.
