THE Police Regional Offices outside of the National Capital Region (NCR) were instructed to prepare for the nationwide enforcement of the Alert Level System.
Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief, Police General Guillermo Eleazar gave the instructions as the Department of Health (DOH) said that beginning December 1, the Alert Level System will be fully implemented across the country.
PGen Eleazar said provincial and city police officials should familiarize themselves with the Alert System guidelines for their proper implementation in communities.
“As early as now, I have already instructed Police Regional Offices to prepare for the implementation of the alert level system nationwide. Each alert level system has different sets of guidelines so the police should study it carefully and learn its proper implementation to avoid confusion in its enforcement,” PGen Eleazar said.
He said they are expecting that there will some easing of restrictions in provinces and regions based on the alert level, which would mean more people can now go out of their homes. Along with this, more businesses will also start to open. “That is why I am reminding our police to ensure the strict enforcement of security measures so that criminal elements won’t be able to victimize other people,” he pointed out.
The NCR was placed under Alert Level 2 until November 21. Starting December 1, the alert level assignments will be determined every 15th and 30th of the month.
PGen Eleazar reminded police personnel outside the NCR to properly implement health protocols so that the Alert Level System could also be effective in curbing the further increase of COVID-19 cases like in Metro Manila.
The Chief PNP also encouraged the public to continue observing minimum public health standards so that the decrease in the number of COVID-19 cases would continue.
