THE Philippine National Police (PNP) assured that the organization’s Directorate for Logistics and other concerned police units are prepared to deploy its assets, whether air, land or sea, including other police resources to help transport and deliver COVID-19 vaccine doses.

The assurance was given by PNP Chief, Police General Guillermo Eleazar, after President Rodrigo Duterte has ordered the use of the air assets of the police and even the military in bringing vaccines to the different regions nationwide.

PGen Eleazar guaranteed that police air, land and sea assets are ready for use in transporting COVID-19 vaccines to various provinces and municipalities, especially localities in far-flung areas.

Police regional directors were already instructed to coordinate with local chief executives to discuss the logistics of the vaccine delivery, and to deploy additional personnel if needed that will focus on vaccine delivery, he added.

Since the beginning of the national government’s vaccination rollout in March, the police force has been helping in the delivery of vaccines. Aside from security and transportation, on stand-by as well is the PNP’s Medical Reserve Force for immediate deployment in any locality that would need assistance to fast-track the vaccination process, PGen Eleazar pointed out.

“Our local police units nationwide have also been tasked to help out in disseminating the right information about the COVID-19 vaccines through their various social media platforms and our Oplan Bandillo.”

He urged the public to avail of COVID-19 vaccines with more supplies arriving in the country. He stressed that at present, getting anti-COVID shots is the main shield of the public against the deadly virus.
