THE Philippines was again offered to host the South East Asian (SEA) Games, the 37th edition of which will be held on 2033.
This was confirmed by Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) Chairman Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino.
Tolentino said the SEA Games Federation Council offered the Philippines to be the host of the 2033 Games in its meeting in Cambodia yesterday.
The information was then relayed by the POC and the SEA Games Council to Malacañang for the possible issuance of a Letter of Support.
If the Philippine government decides to decline the offer, the hosting of the Games will then be offered to another country.
If the country decides to accept the offer, it will be the fifth time that the Philippines will host the biennial regional multi-sport event.
The Philippines played host in 1981, 1991, 2005 and 2019.
