MALACAÑANG has admitted that even after Congress approved the Bayanihan 3 bill, the administration has yet to figure out how or where to get the P401-billion fund that would cover measures seen to help the economy recover from the devastating COVID-19 pandemic.

In a press briefing, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said that they are still waiting for the inputs of the administration’s economic team.

We are still waiting for the report of the economic team if we have a budget for that,” Roque said.

Roque said that the government will check if there is available funding from the P4.5-trillion 2021 budget and the P165-billion Bayanihan 2 law.

We are also waiting certification from the Bureau of Treasury if we have funds for Bayanihan 3,” he added.

Roque also said the Palace appreciates the proactive approach of the Velasco-led House.

We thank them for this because when the time comes that we really need a supplemental budget, we won’t be scrambling for it,” Roque said.
