Cloudy skies and rains will dominate weather conditions across the Philippines on Saturday due to the influence of multiple weather systems, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported early in the day.
In its latest forecast, PAGASA noted the following weather patterns affecting various regions:
Visayas, Bicol Region, and MIMAROPA: Cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected, brought by the shear line.
Davao Region and SOCCSKSARGEN: Similar conditions of scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms will persist due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).
Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, and Quezon: These areas will experience cloudy skies with more consistent rains caused by the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan).
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon: Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains are forecast, also influenced by Amihan.
The rest of Mindanao: Expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
Marine and Coastal Conditions
PAGASA also issued warnings for rough seas:
Northern Luzon and the eastern coasts of Central and Southern Luzon: Strong to gale-force winds will bring rough to very rough coastal waters, posing hazards to small vessels.
Rest of Luzon and Visayas: Moderate to strong winds will result in moderate to rough seas.
Other parts of the country: Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters are expected.
