SOME health experts doubt if the Omicron variant of COVID-19 will be the last.
According to Dr. Cynthia Saloma of the UP-Philippine Genome Center, the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID-19 is intelligent and continues to change that is why it is difficult to determine if it will discontinue with its evolution.
The more important thing now is that everyone should continue to be prepared and to fight the virus by taking care of one’s health.
Meanwhile, Dr. Eva Maria dela Paz of the UP-National Institutes of Health said that the purpose of the virus is to find ways on how to multiply and to survive, but the environment and the situation is now changing with the increase in the number of people who are already fully vaccinated.
For her part, Dr. Ana Ong-Lim believes that COVID-19 will continue to shock the world but as time passes, people will also learn how to combat it.
