Oman and the Philippines will convene a high-level business and government forum in Manila on July 26 as both countries seek to deepen economic ties through trade, investment and private sector partnerships.
The third Oman–Philippines Strategic Majlis will bring together senior government officials, investors and business leaders to discuss opportunities in sectors such as agriculture, fisheries, logistics, tourism, technology, energy and transport.
The Omani delegation will be led by no less than Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi. Joining him are Muneer Al Muneeri, deputy president of operations at the Oman Investment Authority (OIA), Labor Minister Dr. Mahad bin Said bin Ali Baawain, Omani Ambassador to the Philippines Nasser bin Said Al Manawri, and representatives from government agencies and the private sector.

Organizers said the forum aims to identify opportunities to expand bilateral trade, encourage investments and establish joint ventures between companies from both countries.
Discussions are expected to include improving market access for Philippine agricultural and fisheries products, enhancing logistics and transport connectivity, and exploring collaboration in tourism, technology and other emerging industries.
The participation of the OIA, Oman’s sovereign wealth fund, is expected to highlight investment opportunities across priority sectors.
Philippine Ambassador to Oman Noralyn Jubaira Baja said the initiative reflects the evolving relationship between the two countries, which has traditionally been centered on labor mobility.
“For decades, our bilateral bond was primarily defined by the thousands of Overseas Filipino Workers building livelihoods in Oman, but this institutionalized platform now channels decades of social goodwill into concrete investments,” she said in a statement.
Al Manawri said the forum is expected to support broader economic cooperation between Oman and the Philippines through dialogue between government and business stakeholders.
The Strategic Majlis comes as Manila and Muscat seek to broaden bilateral relations beyond labor cooperation by promoting trade, investment and innovation.
The event follows activities commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia, which were attended by Al Busaidi during his visit to Manila.
Held biennially, the Oman–Philippines Strategic Majlis serves as a platform for government officials and business leaders to explore areas of mutual economic interest and strengthen bilateral cooperation.
