THE Department of Health (DOH) said there were only 239 new COVID-19 cases reported daily in the country over the past week.
This came after the DOH logged a total of 1,674 new COVID-19 cases from April 11 up to April 17.
The DOH said the 239 daily cases is lower by 12 percent compared to the 272 daily average recorded last April 4 to April 10.
Among the new cases, only one was reported severe and critical.
The DOH also recorded an additional 200 COVID-19 fatalities but 43 out of these were logged on April 4 to April 17.
According to the DOH COVID-19 Case Bulletin, there were 664 patients listed as severe and critical that remained in hospitals.
Meanwhile, the DOH reported an overall 2,842 ICU beds for COVID-19 patients, about 450 or 15.8 percent of which are occupied.
On the other hand, about 66 million individuals or 74.28 percent of the target population are fully vaccinated while 12.6 million individuals have received their booster shots.
